Addressing the AI Skill Gaps

One of the most in-demand skills for the modern workforce is AI literacy. This new technology has already revolutionized the way that daily tasks are completed. For example, instead of having to manually take notes during meetings or draft emails, AI is able to provide much of the heavy lifting. However, the instructions provided to AI must be clear and concise, or there is a risk of inaccuracies and lots of iterating to reach the correct output. The art and science behind creating these instructions is called AI prompt engineering. There are many methods of creating prompts, including chain of thought, chain of symbol, generated knowledge prompting, and least to most prompting. Unfortunately, only 12% of IT professionals can be classified as being proficient in prompt engineering. It is such an important skill that 72% of IT leaders are claiming this skill gap needs to be urgently addressed if their organization is going to compete successfully. There are courses being offered that are designed to upskill and cross-sell professionals with AI literacy. In as little as 6 weeks, workers can learn how to apply AI to different use cases, such as financial management, marketing, and Excel. Armed with this knowledge, workers will be able to compete successfully in the market.
