Who are you and what business did you start?
My name is Tiffanie Glaze and I founded my company Grounded by Nature.
What’s your backstory and how did you come up with the idea?
For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. After years of hard work and education, I finally achieved this dream. I landed an amazing teaching job in South Korea working for the Department of Defense. Although I finally had my dream job, I was craving more…I knew I needed to free myself from teaching within four-walls. So, I took a leap of faith (I decided to leave SK and return to the US while at a fork in the trail on a hike – no less) and left my dream job as a teacher to pursue a career of teaching outdoors in nature. After a few trials and errors, my company Grounded by Nature was born. I have merged my love of nature with my passion for teaching and uplifting others and provide coaching services to women entrepreneurs and working moms who are are overworked, overwhelmed, frustrated and just ready to have more balance and flow in their lives.
Describe the process of launching the business.
Before I launched my business, I took a few months off to just take care of myself and family. In my business, you have to lead by example and in order to do that you have to walk the walk and talk the talk – so I needed that time to reconnect with the things I valued most in life. After this, I just started messy. I quickly realized that just starting was more important that being perfect. Part of what I help women overcome is having to be in control all the time, so for me, just starting and putting myself out there was key!
Since launch, what has worked to attract and retain customers?
Staying authentic and true to myself is essential in this process. I am still a new business so I am working on building relationships and connections and being true to myself. I think that doing the things that feel right to you and staying authentic to yourself makes everything just flow. I believe a lot in having the right energy, so I just show up as me and do what feels good. I look forward to building relationships with others, impacting as many lives as I can, and growing as individual.
How are you doing today and what does the future look like?
I feel great. I just got home from a hike in beautiful San Diego, which is part of my self-care routine. The future looks expansive. I love supporting women live the best versions of themselves and to help create a ripple effect of positivity along the way!
Through starting the business, have you learned anything particularly helpful or advantageous?
YES! Keep your boundaries tight. Stay present. Do things intentionally. Be authentic. Listen to the lessons of Mother Nature. And just be YOU.
What platform/tools do you use for your business?
