Patti Naiser owner and founder of Senior Home Transitions

Who are you and what business did you start?

I’m Patti, the owner and founder of Senior Home Transitions. I help individuals with all of their senior care home needs

What’s your backstory and how did you come up with the idea?

I came up with this idea after my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Navigating the care home industry was a struggle, and for the life of me I couldn’t find someone that could help me find the perfect home for my father. It was only after I went through the struggle did I realise the gap and need in the market for a company like mine

Describe the process of launching the business.

Recruiting a competent team that had the same vision as me was key. After that, everything else such as finding a office to setting up our website fell into place.

Since launch, what has worked to attract and retain customers?

Customer reviews. Hearing from our customers how we helped them find the right care home did wonders when it came to attracting customers! Word of mouth really is the best way to promote your business.

How are you doing today and what does the future look like?

I am proud to announce that we have expanded to a few different locations in the US already! We aim to see a Senior Home Transitions in every state of America in the future

Through starting the business, have you learned anything particularly helpful or advantageous?

Trust your gut and believe in yourself. The world will try its best to bring you down, especially if you are a woman. I have learned to pay no attention to those telling me I can’t accomplish something. Instead, I have channeled that into progressing as a woman owned business.

What platform/tools do you use for your business?

LinkedIn, twitter and our website

What have been the most influential books, podcasts, or other resources?

Man’s Search for Meaning

Advice for other entrepreneurs who want to get started or are just starting out?

Survey the market before jumping into anything. It is ok to take risks, but make sure they are calculated. Remember, the numbers don’t lie!
