3 Ways to Increase Staff Morale

3 Ways to Increase Staff Morale

The part years have been really tough, many businesses have shut down for at least some time which has placed a real strain on staff relationships. If things are returning to normal where you are, but you feel that your company’s staff morale has been impacted, don’t worry you’re not alone. This has been a pretty widespread consequence of the pandemic, all the restrictions and the health impacts it’s had on all of us. If you’re looking for ways to improve your staff morale, keep reading as I’m sure these tips will help you get your staff back to normal as soon as possible.
Do Something Fun
Why not do something fun with your staff? I know it’s still a few months from Christmas and Christmas parties, but why not do something now to increase morale and show your staff that you’re grateful they’re still around. I suggest looking into the best team building activities near you so that you can do something fun, and outside the norm. There are so many different types of activities you can choose from from a vineyard visit, axe throwing through to an adventure course. You’re going to want to consider the age and relative fitness of your employees. Why not come up with a few suggestions and allow people to vote on their favorite pick. It’s always fun when you involve them in choosing.

Remember Special Occasions
The year always goes by so fast, one minute it’s New Years and the next we’re heading into Fall and sweater weather. Because life is so busy, it can be easy to let special occasions slide by. I suggest making a note of your employees special occasions such as their birthdays, their kids’ birthdays, and any special anniversaries. You don’t have to do anything elaborate to celebrate – for birthdays it can be nice to get them a gift. But for other anniversaries just simply remembering and sending a quick email can be such a thoughtful gesture that can help make your staff feel really valued. If someone is expecting a new baby, why not host a baby shower so that you can pool together some money to buy them a substantial gift like the best activity baby gym.

Don’t Make It Just About Work
It can be tempting to focus on work whenever you see your employees, but I think it’s really important to show that you care about them. Ask questions about how they’re doing, remember their kids names and ask about their hobbies and interests. It’s so important that your employees know you see them as a whole person and that you care about how their lives are outside of work. If you’ve ever worked with a boss who keeps things strictly work only, you know how you can feel just like a cog in their machine and it never does much for staff morale.

I hope these three simple tips help inspire you to increase your staff morale and help your business reach new levels.
